Territory Manager – Distribution

Summary
This position will be responsible for direct sales for Dooley Tackaberry in the capacity of Territory Manager for the Clute/Freeport, Texas area within our Distribution Division.

Territory
Primarily Brazoria and Matagorda counties in Texas (Bay City, Clute, Freeport, Lake Jackson, Sweeny, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities
– Responsible for generating and increasing sales within our existing and prospect customers by developing and maintaining strong professional relationships.
– Strategically make face-to-face (in-person) sales calls on customers from an assigned account and/or prospect list.
– In an effort to increase sales and gross profit (“GP”) from assigned customers, develop and expand the following relationships at various levels within the customer’s organization as applicable:
– Purchasing Department
– Health, Safety, and Environmental Department
– Maintenance Department
– Fire Department / Fire Brigade
– Engineering Groups
– Develop and conduct presentations to customer(s) to educate them on Dooley Tackaberry and the potential solutions and unique capabilities that we offer including:
– Company Capabilities & Offerings (Distribution, Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Services)
– ISO 9001 Quality Management System and related process performance measures
– Product Lines & Strategic Partners
– Dooley Tackaberry Statement of Experience
– Coordinate Dooley Tackaberry facility visits with customers.
– Organize lunch and learns with manufacturer representatives on specific products.
– Report sales activities and projections to manager on scheduled intervals.
– Assist customers in specifying products and suppliers that Dooley Tackaberry represents, and when technical in nature, work with a Dooley Tackaberry subject matter expert to develop comprehensive equipment specifications for end users and EPCs. (Examples would include fabrication or installation opportunities, water mist, fire pumps, fire suppression, and fire and gas detection systems, etc.)
– Maintain acceptable gross profit growth in assigned territory as defined by your SMART Objective.

Customer Entertainment
– Strategically meet with key customer contacts on an informal basis to further strengthen business relationships to expand Dooley Tackaberry’s (“DT”) business.
– Customer Entertainment activities should include (but not be limited to) breakfast, lunch, dinner, sporting events, outdoors activities, etc. and/or in compliance with our Employee Handbook and Expense Reimbursement Policy.
– Non-standard customer entertainment approval will be required by your manager prior to activity taking place.

Knowledge and Skills
– High School diploma or equal (minimum)
– College degree (preferred)
– 2-5 years Outside Sales experience (minimum)
– Personal Protective Equipment and/or Fire and Safety Equipment and system knowledge (preferred)
– Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Valid State Driver’s License (required)

– Ability to problem solve, negotiate, and recommend potential solutions
– Desire to continuously grow in knowledge and assume additional responsibilities where appropriate
– Adhere to acceptable business ethics standards as defined by Dooley Tackaberry.

Physical Requirements
– Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time on occasion
– Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 25 lbs. routinely
– Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally

Compensation / Benefits
– Salary/commission, commensurate with product knowledge, experience, technical training, and selling competency. Commission payments will be based on the gross profit produced and may be adjusted depending upon the Territory Managers direct efforts as detailed below.
– The Territory Manager must demonstrate that they are actively calling on both assigned and prospect customer accounts and that they are also responsible for insuring that Dooley Tackaberry is receiving both customer Inquiries and Purchase Orders.
– Compensation package will be reviewed/updated on an annual basis.
