First Responder Customer Service Representative

Summary

Responsible for all aspects of the Customer Service role as it pertains to the First Responder Sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Address and answer incoming phone calls and emails
  • Address all customer needs in a timely manner
  • Process Quotes and Orders in a timely manner
  • Return customer calls as necessary
  • Make out-going phone calls as required to obtain required information
  • Effectively navigate Customer and Supplier web Portals as it pertains to data entry
  • Generate custom Personal Protective Equipment Specification (i.e., Bunker Gear, SCBA’s, etc.)
  • Obtain, Assemble and Submit all required Bid and Proposal Documentation
  • Update required Status Bid Sheet Daily
  • Expedite open Sales Orders
  • Provide Proof of Delivery
  • Provide RMAs to Customers
  • Enter Cases as needed
  • Participate in the On Call rotation schedule (afterhours, weekends, and holidays)
  • Assist in coverage when team members are out of the office
  • Attend all trainings and meetings as required to improve customer service, computer, phone competence or any other requirements that would be important to the success as a customer service professional

Knowledge and Skills

  • College degree preferred
  • 2-5 years Customer Service experience
  • 2+ years of direct Fire & Rescue Equipment knowledge which includes:
    • Creating custom specifications
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of Fire Fighting and Rescue Equipment, Tools, and PPE
  • Good working knowledge of the processes and procedures of the major Cooperative Purchasing Organizations:
    • BuyBoard
    • Houston – Galveston Area Council (H-GAC)
    • Sourcewell
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
