Summary
Responsible for all aspects of the Customer Service role as it pertains to the First Responder Sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Address and answer incoming phone calls and emails
- Address all customer needs in a timely manner
- Process Quotes and Orders in a timely manner
- Return customer calls as necessary
- Make out-going phone calls as required to obtain required information
- Effectively navigate Customer and Supplier web Portals as it pertains to data entry
- Generate custom Personal Protective Equipment Specification (i.e., Bunker Gear, SCBA’s, etc.)
- Obtain, Assemble and Submit all required Bid and Proposal Documentation
- Update required Status Bid Sheet Daily
- Expedite open Sales Orders
- Provide Proof of Delivery
- Provide RMAs to Customers
- Enter Cases as needed
- Participate in the On Call rotation schedule (afterhours, weekends, and holidays)
- Assist in coverage when team members are out of the office
- Attend all trainings and meetings as required to improve customer service, computer, phone competence or any other requirements that would be important to the success as a customer service professional
Knowledge and Skills
- College degree preferred
- 2-5 years Customer Service experience
- 2+ years of direct Fire & Rescue Equipment knowledge which includes:
- Creating custom specifications
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Fire Fighting and Rescue Equipment, Tools, and PPE
- Good working knowledge of the processes and procedures of the major Cooperative Purchasing Organizations:
- BuyBoard
- Houston – Galveston Area Council (H-GAC)
- Sourcewell
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
